Gjelina stands for a lot of celebs seeing, local organic food, hip vibes, and NO MODIFICATIONS for any of the items on the menu… unless you want to be courteously invited to go eat somewhere else. You won’t regret the visit, though! Gjelina is one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles. It can be difficult to get a table for dinner unless you book one at least a week in advance.
The service is excellent, the space is intimate, with a trendy, urban, almost steampunk, hipterish atmosphere, and the location is great, right on the heart of Abbot Kinney. More important, the food is mouthwatering, both sweet and savory.
And if you’re on the run, there’s GTA, "Gjelina Take Away," just next door. It’s quite a thing to see all those Venice hipsters wearing winter fur hats eating their quinoa salad or their turkey fontina tomato sandwich sat on a plastic crate on the sidewalk.
