- Camping lanterns or flashlights
- Camping plates and cutlery, if you prefer your own. We usually provide a limited number of stainless steel plates and cutlery boxed up in the cabin kitchen.

Items we provide
We provide the following items for your stay:

The Airstream Trailer
This trailer was built in 1965 and is mostly original. Please be gentle!
For lighting control, you can speak to Alexa or use the switch in the image below:
There is a smart space heater on the counter top. It is set to 70 degrees and turns off if it is moved or tips over.
Kindly let us know if you would like us to adjust the temperature remotely.
Dog owners
Should you bring a dog, you will need to bring a dog bed and enough blankets to protect the queen-size bed and the twin-size bench inside the trailer from damage. Please also protect the seat cushions on the deck chairs in front of the trailer.
Once you lock the entrance gate behind you, feel free to have your dog off leash, if you feel comfortable doing so.
Canyon lighting
There are landscape lights and string lights spanning across the canyon that are on a smart timer. They go on around sunset and turn off around sunrise. Please email or text us if you would like this changed.
Fires
We provide a steel fire bowl and plenty of fire wood. Unless there is a fire ban, you are welcome to make a fire and use the round grate for cooking.
We also provide kindling/fire starter, which is stored in the cabin kitchen. If you need additional fire starter or prefer your own, please bring it with you.
A few steps further up the dirt road on the right-hand side, we have piled up a lot of tree trunk blocks and larger slices that can be split into firewood if you want to bring an axe. Please note that doing so is entirely at your own risk. You may also find smaller logs ready to be used.
If there are windy conditions, no fires are allowed.
Please note: If sudden wind gusts arrive, you will need to extinguish the fire with water from the garden hose nearby.
Water
The campsite is connected to a pressurized spring water system.
Please note: This water is not potable. Do not drink it!
Hiking
Below is a hiking trail map suggestion in the area. It involves a few steep stretches that require solid hiking shoes and even climbing over rocks. Don't start the hike if you are not fit, do not feel well, or feel sick. Long pants and sleeves are highly recommended. Always take at least 20 oz of drinking water with you when you hike.

Wildlife and emergency information
If you encounter any wildlife, please keep your distance. As you probably know, the overall area of the Santa Monica and Santa Susana Mountains is known as a habitat for mountain lions and rattlesnakes. We haven't seen any in years, but that of course doesn't mean that you won't encounter them.
If you need urgent medical attention, please call 911 immediately or go to the nearest urgent care center:
